VIRGIN MARY APPARITIONS The Blessed Mother has appeared many times on earth, especially during humanity's most crucial moments in history. Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina. According to six visionaries, as well as millions of believers, the Virgin Mary began appearing in this tiny Balkan village on June 24th, 1981. As of today, the visionaries have experienced around eight thousand days of apparitions. Her messages, intended for all humanity, ask people to place God first in their lives. Mary predicted and warned about World War II and the spread of Communism. The Miracle of the Sun was witnessed by over 70,000 people. The Virgin Mary appeared to a young girl named Bernadette on eighteen separate occasions in a small rock grotto. A miraculous freshwater spring, said to have healing powers, began flowing at the grotto. The Catholic Church approved the apparitions, and today millions of believers flock to Lourdes in search of healings. Click here for more information on Lourdes. GARABANDAL1961. San Sebastian de Garabandal, Spain. Four young girls - Conchita, Jacinta, Mari Loli and Mari Cruz - claimed that the Virgin Mary appeared to them hundreds of times. The messages from the Blessed Mother, according to the visionaries, were urgent pleas for conversion so as to avoid a global chastisement. The Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Laboure three times. Our Lady promised to entrust St. Catherine with a mission. Then, on November 27, Our Lady showed St. Catherine the medal of the Immaculate Conception, now universally known as the "Miraculous Medal."
