It is true that it is mostly protesant belief, to be more specific Pentecostal and a couple of other factions. I have been told however that the Charismatic Catholics believe in the Rapture-I don't personally but we have a group that goes to our church and we have a charismatic mass once or twice a month and that is how they believe.
Someone in this thread although has already made the point that there is a difference in the way they believe and the protesants do. Than one other point might be made that here in NM that there have been some of the Charismatic Churches that went too far and were cut loose from the Diocese I personally like some of the Charismatic they seem to have a good spirited nature but do not know what to make of the girls with the low cut mini skirted dresses serving the Eucharists and the Blood of Christ, but I suppose it's not for me to say it's jedgemental.

You know, I was always told the whole idea of rapture was a protestant belief. I don't really know what I believe. I am willing to accept whatever the church teaches though. I was just amazed that there are some Catholic websites which seemed to support this idea but in a different way than Protestants. If I come upon on of them again I will post a link and maybe we could put our heads together on this one. I am aware that just as some churches have fallen away from the true teachings of Catholicism it would be reasonable to assume some websites are not in line with true Catholicism as well. I hope I make sense. _________________ Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world. |

| Ivan doesn't say that there wont be 3 days of darkness, he basically just says that we should not spend time fearing 3 days, but instead pray ans so on |

i got told this story of the '3 dark days' as a child..and was utterly terrified and terrorized out of my mind by it. i told my little friend at the time also and she cried unconsolably.
Please take children into consideration and those who may be easily unsettled when talking about such matters.
oh my gosh..couldn't read alot of this thread even now. Brings back such bad memories. |

I personally do not believe that we will ever live to see the 3 days of darkness if it is ever to come, it's one of the very last!

Here is the Prophesy; interestingly it refers to the conversion of Russia, some decades before the Fatima message:
"After the three days of darkness, St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth. Whole nations will come back to the Church and the face of the earth will be renewed. Russia, England, and China will come into the Church." (Prophecy of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837 A.D.) who was Beatified by Pope Bendedict XV in 1920.)"
My homeland of England is indeed falling away rapidly at present from being 'Our Lady's Dowry', as was once proclaimed. I recently saw a bumper sticker on a car that proclaimed that if we want to know about Jesus, then telephone - and then was given the number of an Islamic site.
I feel that the 'Days of Darkness' may be something to do with forecast Warning and 'conditional' Chastisement associated with Garabandal and Medjugorje. So possibly sooner rather than much later.
The Blessed Virgin said that it is well that we stay close to the Church during these times.

MaryH
I got told about the 3 days of darkness as a child and did not loose sleep over it, or feel fear then or now.
I also got told never to get in a car with a stranger as a child and did not loose sleep over it, or feel fear then or now.
Warnings are for our protection and safety, all we have to do is obey what we are told to do primarily in the 10 Commandments of God along with the 6 commandments of holy mother church.
We just need to know, and pass on to our children if the 3 days of darkness arrive in our lifetime, the things which will bring us safely through.
The one strange stumbling block that seems to come up again and again. Why is this confusing?
During those 3 days, If we go out we would die.
If our loved ones therefore who are not living with us left the safety of the place they happen to be to get to us, they woud die.
How come some posts on this thread can not see the simple logic in that advise ??
It is also worthy to note the similar information in Divine Mercy Revelation to St sister Maria Faustina. This happened in the 20th century, so more recent. _________________ Come O Holy Spirit, please descend upon us all, through the most powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your most chaste and well beloved spouse.

Well Julia60, your reply alienated me entirely.. you must have been very blessed with security as a child not to have lost any sleep over this.
i would not have been in the category as a 'secure child' and neither was my sisters or friends so i'm only asking for people to consider that children (especially more sensitive ones) may not understand this kind of talk.
it gave the message that the world and future is a very scary place. its the worst possible scenario to a child that 'everyone is gonna die' & the sun wont' come up'. .Alot of children dislike the darkness and need night lights to sleep even as it is.
This is without hearing a grown adult speaking of some catastrophie on the future horizon. Warnings can also be percieved as nothing more than threats also. i most certainly felt threatened and unpeaceful after hearing this tale as a child. i'd go so far as to say it went into my subconsious and traumatized me actually.
Children have vivid imaginations, cannot fend for themselves..and are un-likely to be able to adequately reason the simple logic in the advice you are speaking of. its the stuff of nightmares. Theres no confusion on my part on this matter. plz be v. careful thats all i ask.
i have just recently started to read the Revealations of St. Faustina so cannot comment on any similar content as of yet. |

Sometimes Maryh we have to face our fears one day at a time, not so long ago(this year)my wife brought the son that she or no one else has ever been able to do anything with and it was rough she wanted to pray over him but he wouldn't accept Christ his was a very threatening presence this went on for nearly a year twice I nearly moved out I was even thinking of buying a pistol for protection(he had a typical street thug mentality)than I talked with a brother who wants to become Priest and we decided on prayer so we did that than one night a girl friend made him jealous and he stabbed her cousin in the back in a fit of jealousy and fled the area, he had intended to use this knife on me I feel sure of it! I can't begin to tell you what it felt like to have that hanging over me!
I sympathize with you and will pray that our Lord will take your fear away and send the comforter(mentioned in Revelations)to calm you and you should pray for understanding, perseverance and mercy! Pray Pray Pray and everything will come right for you I feel sure and this is coming from someone who has had to face a lot of fear and even now feel kind of insecure! God Bless You!

Thanks Dave,
That must have been really hard for you and your family...i'll remember your story now & how God protected you when it really mattered.
I suppose because i'm only new to trying to increase my faith, i still have alot of prayers to do to learn how to trust in God and his mercy more.
One day at a time Sweet Jesus.... |

Maryh, please forgive me if I made you feel afraid. This was not my intention.
We have been told, that the times we live in can be described as dark days, and you are not afraid, I hope.
Do not be afraid, we all have Jesus, Who loves us and Our Blessed Mother who loves us. And we have our Dear Heavenly Father Who loves us with, I have been told a jealous love. How loved is that, so we have no need to fear. I think when we ordinary humans love someone we want to protect them, that is why I believe Dear God protects us on account of His love for us, just like a loving father, only Our Heavenly Father, God is Divine and can protect us far more than an ordinary father.
The visionaries in Medjugorje have said, if we knew how much we are loved we would cry with joy. I can't even imagine what that would be like, not ever having experienced being loved that much, so far anyway !
Peace, and love and joy now and always Maryh
